@Orcinus24x5 You can use an electromagnet thats stronger to get the Ferrofluid, the beauty of that is that you can just turn off the electromagnet when your done.

piercing rings are usually made from titanium, which is not magnetic. you can even put that into an MRI without being ripped to pieces. :)
e.g. there are special ekg electrodes used in MRIs – they’re also made from / with titanium.

just use a much stronger magnet wrapped up in foil… that should steal it from the speaker (and makes it easy to remove).

    no, it’s not. sadly.

wow, that’d make one hell of a mess. i’d not try that at home, lol.

in the inner bit, near the voice coil.

Search for “ferrofluid sculpture” on YouTube if you want to see more awesome ferrofluid action.

Great job man keep it up, your videos are just so cool!!!

You will find small amounts of ferrofluid in old hard disc drives. It is used in the bearings of the motor spinning the discs there. After removing the shaft you can easily harvest it with a strong magnet wrapped in plastic foil. (This helps to remove the fluid from the magnet afterwards)

cooooool, wo bekommt man ferrofluid?? oder ist es moglich es selbst herzustellem?

@fegolem that would be something to see, i have a friend with some good video equipment, and i happen to have a 3awg x 600 wind magnet that would be perfect for a few seconds of video.

i have seen a lot of this before, what is the liquid these particles are suspended in, you mention it “drys out” could these micro-particles not be suspended in a high viscosity oil to combat this problem, or in a water based media that could be “maintained’ with some sort of hydration system, like a sponge soaked in water, or if it was used is a constant circulation system low quantity water mix, like the drip function of an IV bag?
